She’s one of the hottest up-and-coming actresses in the industry, and last night Blake Lively was spotted having a marvelous time at the US Weekly Hot in Hollywood Issue Celebration last night (October 21).

The “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” cutie gave a big smile to the paparazzi as she made her way inside, sporting a black and white striped button-up shirt with a black vest, black trousers, and maroon heels.

Blake recently returned to NYC following a trip home to Los Angeles to visit her hospitalized father. Ernie Lively was seriously injured in a car accident on October 13th, but it sounds like he’s on the road to recovery.

Of course, Blake was on the first flight home when she heard the news. A family friend revealed, “They are as close as any father and daughter could be — she was beside herself when she got this horrible news. Her dad taught her everything.”

Lively’s business partner and cousin Harold Smith told press, “He’s doing much better. His wife Elaine just called to say they’ve moved him to a regular room.”

Blake Lively’s father, Ernie Lively, was hospitalized Monday with back and lung injuries after his car tumbled over an embankment on an L.A. road. The Gossip Girl star and her family rushed to his side following the accident.

Despite the severity of the crash, Mr. Lively is in stable condition. “He’s going to make a full recovery, thankfully,” Blake’s mother, Elaine Lively, told Us. “Yesterday it didn’t look good.”

“Blake is here, the whole family is here,” she added. “We do not know when he will be out of hospital,” she says. “We are just happy he is going to be OK.”

Both of the Blake parents are in the entertainment biz: Ernie helped Blake achieve her acting debut in 1998’s Sandman, which he directed, as well as played his daughter’s on-screen dad in both installments of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, in addition to over 100 on-screen credits. Elaine is a talent agent.
